Thought we might be ready by this time to move out to an RV park to test all the systems and make sure we have everything packed that we will need. However, taking longer than we thought.
Although we carefully unpacked our old trailer last fall, made lists of everything and where they were put, still spending a lot of time looking for stuff.
As well, some of the items ordered for the truck, like the extra fuel tank has still not arrived. But the end is in sight.
We will take the trailer in on Monday to get the tires balanced and then move it to the RV park in Lunenburg. We'll be there for at least a week and then "if the creek don't rise" we should be on our way.
Stay tuned!!

Delivery Today
Picked up the new Montana today. Spent about three hours going over the systems and how to operate them. had a few minor changes made on the spot but in general the unit was well prepared by the dealership.
Wrote the final cheque to pay for it. We can now sing the refrains of a song popular many years ago.
By the middle of next week we hope to be set up at a local rv park to test all the systems and live in it for a week or so before setting off. Hopefully this will allow us to fix any small problems that we find. It will also give us a chance to have family and friends stop in to see us, look at the new toys and say our goodbyes until the fall.
More to follow.

We aint got a barrel of money, maybe we're ragged and funny, but we'll travel the road, sharing the load, side by side. After all the paperwork was completed, we drove to a parking lot and did some practice parking, backing up and generally getting the feel for the rig. We drove to our storage site and got it set up there for the next few days while we load it up for this summers trip.

New Toys
We talk about the new Ford truck and the new Montana 5th wheel, so we thought we should post a couple of pictures.
The truck is a 2010 Ford super duty F-350, diesel with dual rear wheels with all the bells and whistles. Currently being outfitted with a fifth wheel hitch, extra 50 gallon fuel tank and a major front bull guard.
The Montana is much larger than our old travel trailer. About 33 feet long with two slides, one in the living room and one in the bedroom. Dear wife (DW) looks small standing beside it on the day that it arrived at the dealership.
It will be serviced and ready for our final inspection by Wednesday, May 19. If all goes well, we should take delivery then.

Welcome
This is our first attempt to set up something like this. In our previous travels we kept in touch with friends by e-mailing weekly "reports". They became popular and some of our friends would forward copies to their friends and the number of people interested in our travels grew.
We are getting ready to set off on another trip across Canada, which might lead us into becoming "full time" gypsies. We have purchased a larger tow vehicle and a new Montana 5th wheel trailer. We will take delivery of the new unit next week, take a couple of weeks to iron out any bugs that we might find, get it packed up and head out.
It is going to take some time for us to get used to the process used to set up a good looking blog page, so bear with us as we struggle with this process over the next few days.
